CVE-2018-14567 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Ansible Tower and 2 more 2026-10-14 N/A
libxml2 2.9.8, if --with-lzma is used, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via a crafted XML file that triggers LZMA_MEMLIMIT_ERROR, as demonstrated by xmllint, a different vulnerability than CVE-2015-8035 and CVE-2018-9251.
CVE-2018-14404 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more 6 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Ansible Tower and 3 more 2026-10-14 6.5 Medium
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability exists in the xpath.c:xmlXPathCompOpEval() function of libxml2 through 2.9.8 when parsing an invalid XPath expression in the XPATH_OP_AND or XPATH_OP_OR case. Applications processing untrusted XSL format inputs with the use of the libxml2 library may be vulnerable to a denial of service attack due to a crash of the application.
CVE-2017-9050 2 Redhat, Xmlsoft 2 Jboss Core Services, Libxml2 2026-10-14 7.5 High
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in the xmlDictAddString function in dict.c. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash. This vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-1839.
CVE-2017-9049 2 Redhat, Xmlsoft 2 Jboss Core Services, Libxml2 2026-10-14 7.5 High
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in the xmlDictComputeFastKey function in dict.c. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash. This vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for libxml2 Bug 759398.
CVE-2017-9048 2 Redhat, Xmlsoft 2 Jboss Core Services, Libxml2 2026-10-14 7.5 High
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow. The function xmlSnprintfElementContent in valid.c is supposed to recursively dump the element content definition into a char buffer 'buf' of size 'size'. At the end of the routine, the function may strcat two more characters without checking whether the current strlen(buf) + 2 < size. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash.
CVE-2017-9047 2 Redhat, Xmlsoft 2 Jboss Core Services, Libxml2 2026-10-14 N/A
A buffer overflow was discovered in libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801. The function xmlSnprintfElementContent in valid.c is supposed to recursively dump the element content definition into a char buffer 'buf' of size 'size'. The variable len is assigned strlen(buf). If the content->type is XML_ELEMENT_CONTENT_ELEMENT, then (i) the content->prefix is appended to buf (if it actually fits) whereupon (ii) content->name is written to the buffer. However, the check for whether the content->name actually fits also uses 'len' rather than the updated buffer length strlen(buf). This allows us to write about "size" many bytes beyond the allocated memory. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash.
CVE-2017-7376 3 Debian, Google, Xmlsoft 3 Debian Linux, Android, Libxml2 2026-10-14 N/A
Buffer overflow in libxml2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by leveraging an incorrect limit for port values when handling redirects.
CVE-2017-7375 3 Debian, Google, Xmlsoft 3 Debian Linux, Android, Libxml2 2026-10-14 9.8 Critical
A flaw in libxml2 allows remote XML entity inclusion with default parser flags (i.e., when the caller did not request entity substitution, DTD validation, external DTD subset loading, or default DTD attributes). Depending on the context, this may expose a higher-risk attack surface in libxml2 not usually reachable with default parser flags, and expose content from local files, HTTP, or FTP servers (which might be otherwise unreachable).
CVE-2017-18258 2 Redhat, Xmlsoft 4 Ansible Tower, Enterprise Linux, Jboss Core Services and 1 more 2026-10-14 N/A
The xz_head function in xzlib.c in libxml2 before 2.9.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a crafted LZMA file, because the decoder functionality does not restrict memory usage to what is required for a legitimate file.
CVE-2017-16932 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2026-10-14 7.5 High
parser.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 does not prevent infinite recursion in parameter entities.
CVE-2017-16931 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2026-10-14 N/A
parser.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 mishandles parameter-entity references because the NEXTL macro calls the xmlParserHandlePEReference function in the case of a '%' character in a DTD name.
CVE-2016-9318 4 Canonical, Redhat, Xmlsec Project and 1 more 4 Ubuntu Linux, Jboss Core Services, Xmlsec and 1 more 2026-10-14 5.5 Medium
libxml2 2.9.4 and earlier, as used in XMLSec 1.2.23 and earlier and other products, does not offer a flag directly indicating that the current document may be read but other files may not be opened, which makes it easier for remote attackers to conduct XML External Entity (XXE) attacks via a crafted document.
CVE-2016-5131 8 Apple, Canonical, Debian and 5 more 18 Iphone Os, Mac Os X, Tvos and 15 more 2026-10-14 8.8 High
Use-after-free vulnerability in libxml2 through 2.9.4, as used in Google Chrome before 52.0.2743.82, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via vectors related to the XPointer range-to function.
CVE-2016-4658 3 Apple, Redhat, Xmlsoft 6 Iphone Os, Mac Os X, Tvos and 3 more 2026-10-14 N/A
xpointer.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 (as used in Apple iOS before 10, OS X before 10.12, tvOS before 10, and watchOS before 3, and other products) does not forbid namespace nodes in XPointer ranges, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (use-after-free and memory corruption) via a crafted XML document.
CVE-2016-3709 2 Redhat, Xmlsoft 3 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus, Libxml2 2026-10-14 6.1 Medium
Possible cross-site scripting vulnerability in libxml after commit 960f0e2.
CVE-2026-86142 1 Xmlsoft 1 Libxml2 2026-09-14 6.9 Medium
In libxml2 before 2.15.4, there is a heap-based buffer overflow in xmlXPtrEvalXPtrPart because of xmlXPtrEval xpointer length saturation.
