CVSS v3.1 |
| A misconfigured wildcard TLS certificate causes a stack read overflow.
This issue does not affect any wildcard certificate issued to the RFC9525 standard - the fix only accepts certificates that comply to this standard.
This issue affects Apache Qpid Proton C: through 0.40.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.41.1, which fixes the issue. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, process_rtcp_report() used an RTPFB NACK packet's declared RTCP header length as its feedback-entry loop bound instead of the datagram length already validated by the caller. A short packet with an oversized declaration could drive reads far beyond the fixed 16 KiB receive buffer. Any peer able to send RTCP to an active video call can reach the flaw, including calls where remote SDP enables video RTCP even though the SIP profile has no explicit RTCP interval configured. The out-of-bounds read can crash FreeSWITCH and terminate every active call, but supplies no write primitive and does not echo the read values to the sender. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FastNetMon is a high-performance DDoS detector and sensor. In version 1.2.9 and earlier, parse_raw_packet_to_simple_packet_full() in src/simple_packet_parser_ng.cpp dereferences ipv6_extension_header_fragment_t when IpProtocolNumberIPV6_FRAG is present without first verifying that the eight-byte Fragment header remains. A crafted sFlow v5 RAW_PACKET_HEADER record can remotely reach this shared parser with the Fragment bytes omitted, causing an unauthenticated remote out-of-bounds read. The supplied harness detects the read under AddressSanitizer, but the advisory does not establish a production process crash. No fixed release is available as of this review. |
| FastNetMon is a high-performance DDoS detector and sensor. In version 1.2.9 and earlier, process_sflow_flow_sample() in src/sflow_plugin/sflow_collector.cpp passes the attacker-controlled sflow_raw_protocol_header_t.header_size to parse_raw_packet_to_simple_packet_full() as its trusted captured length without comparing it with the bytes remaining in the record. An inflated header_size creates a false end pointer beyond the received sFlow v5 UDP buffer, defeating the nested parser's bounds checks and causing an unauthenticated remote out-of-bounds read and process crash, with possible limited exposure of adjacent bytes through parsed flow fields. No fixed release is available as of this review. |
| FastNetMon is a high-performance DDoS detector and sensor. In version 1.2.9 and earlier, the live parse_packet() callback in src/pcap_plugin/pcap_collector.cpp is registered through pcap_loop and processes captured frames when pcap = on without checking packethdr->caplen. A short frame or an attacker-controlled IPv4 header length can make the parser dereference IP or transport headers beyond the captured bytes, causing an out-of-bounds read and process termination. No fixed release is available as of this review. |
| FastNetMon is a high-performance DDoS detector and sensor. In version 1.2.9 and earlier, the NetFlow v9 collector calls strlen() on an attacker-controlled interface-description field without bounding the scan to the field’s declared length. Although fields longer than 128 bytes are excluded from this operation, an accepted field without a null terminator can cause reads beyond the field and packet buffer. An unauthenticated remote attacker who can send crafted UDP packets to the collector can trigger an out-of-bounds read and potentially crash the process, causing denial of service. No fixed release is available as of this review. |
| A flaw was found in sblim-sfcb. A local attacker with access to the system can exploit an unsafe deserialization vulnerability in the provider-manager's inter-process communication (IPC) message parsing. By sending a specially crafted message, the attacker can cause out-of-bounds memory access, leading to the termination of the provider-manager process and a denial of service. This could also potentially result in limited unintended information disclosure. |
| A heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in gfs2-utils. The ea_num_ptrs field from on-disk extended attribute metadata is consumed without bounds validation, causing a heap buffer over-read that may disclose sensitive memory contents or cause a crash when processing crafted GFS2 filesystem images. |
| A stack-based out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the "s_vlog" function of stunnel, when handling oversized log messages via "vsnprintf". A remote attacker with network access to a stunnel service can send protocol inputs that trigger a log message longer than 1024 bytes, leading to an out-of-bounds stack read and a potential crash. In certain corner cases, the same vulnerability could be used to replace a series of trailing "\n" characters with "\0". |
| A flaw was found in SSSD. The sss_nss_protocol_parse_addr() function in the NSS responder does not validate the addrlen field against the remaining packet body size. A local attacker can exploit this via a crafted GETHOSTBYADDR request to the NSS responder socket, causing an out-of-bounds read and process crash, resulting in a denial of service. |
| A flaw was found in SSSD. The extract_authtok_v1() function in the PAM responder does not validate the auth_token_length field against the remaining buffer size before processing. A local attacker can exploit this via a crafted protocol v1 request to the PAM responder socket, causing an out-of-bounds read and process crash, resulting in a denial of service. |
| Buffer overflow in PDFium in Google Chrome prior to 157.0.8103.38 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted PDF file. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| Software installed and run as a non-privileged user may conduct improper GPU system calls causing a stack overflow in the kernel. The overflow occurs when processing resolved Linux/Android fence synchronization checkpoints, while user checkpoints are excluded from the stack array. Successful exploitation can cause kernel memory corruption and typically results in a denial-of-service condition through a kernel crash.
The code vulnerability is a buffer write beyond the allocated array on the stack caused by copying excessive data from an internal buffer. |
| A flaw was found in the file-icns plugin in GIMP. When applying a decompressed mask during ICNS image processing, the plugin reads from the mask data buffer without verifying if the cursor exceeds the allocated resource size. If a crafted file contains a truncated mask resource, the icns_decompress function continues reading past the bounds of the buffer. This out-of-bounds read vulnerability results in information disclosure of heap contents, where memory contents are leaked as alpha channel pixel values, or a crash leading to a denial of service if unmapped memory is accessed. |
| A flaw was found in libsoup. An unsigned integer underflow in the soup_filter_input_stream_read_until() function causes a heap buffer over-read when parsing multipart HTTP responses. A malicious HTTP server can exploit this by sending a crafted multipart response, potentially causing the client application to crash or disclose sensitive heap memory. |
| A flaw was found in GIMP's file-png plugin. A remote attacker can exploit this by crafting a malicious Animated Portable Network Graphics (APNG) image containing an oversized tRNS chunk. This can lead to a stack-based buffer overflow (CWE-121), causing the file-png plugin to crash and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the user. |
| FreeSWITCH is an open-source software telecommunications platform. From 1.10.0 to 1.11.1, there is a stack-based buffer overflow in mod_sofia when processing SIP Contact display names for dialog-event notifications. A peer can establish a dialog containing an excessively long display name and subsequently subscribe to that entity’s dialog events, causing the stored value to overflow a fixed 512-byte stack buffer. Exploitation requires presence management to be enabled, directly or through shared appearance, and normally requires valid profile credentials unless subscription authentication is disabled. The overflow can terminate the FreeSWITCH process and all active calls. This vulnerability is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, rtmp_i_connect() passed the first RTMP connect argument to amf0_object_get() without checking whether the AMF value was an object. A string or number in place of an AMF object caused union bytes from the message to be interpreted as node pointers and dereferenced. Any client with network access to an enabled mod_rtmp listener could send the malformed connect command before login; the module is disabled in the stock build and configuration. The invalid read reliably crashes FreeSWITCH and ends every active call, while no write, memory disclosure, or code execution has been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| A flaw was found in Keylime. An attacker with root access on an enrolled monitored machine, where the Keylime agent runs, can exploit a vulnerability in the Keylime verifier. The verifier uses a hardcoded challenge nonce for Trusted Platform Module (TPM) quote attestation instead of a cryptographically random value. This allows the attacker to stockpile valid TPM quotes and replay them to evade detection after compromising the system. This issue affects only the push model deployment. |
| The issue was addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2. An app may be able to cause unexpected system termination or corrupt kernel memory. |
