CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath11k: fix invalid data access in ath11k_dp_rx_h_undecap_nwifi
In certain cases, hardware might provide packets with a
length greater than the maximum native Wi-Fi header length.
This can lead to accessing and modifying fields in the header
within the ath11k_dp_rx_h_undecap_nwifi() function for the
DP_RX_DECAP_TYPE_NATIVE_WIFI decap type and
potentially result in invalid data access and memory corruption.
Kernel stack is corrupted in: ath11k_dp_rx_h_undecap+0x6b0/0x6b0 [ath11k]

Add a sanity check before processing the SKB to prevent invalid
data access in the undecap native Wi-Fi function for the
DP_RX_DECAP_TYPE_NATIVE_WIFI decap type.
This adapted from the discussion/patch of the ath12k driver [1].

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pds_core: quiesce DMA before freeing resources
pdsc_teardown() frees DMA buffers but does not disable bus mastering,
leaving the device able to perform DMA after the buffers are freed.
This can lead to use-after-free if the device writes to freed memory.
Add pci_clear_master() to pdsc_teardown() to disable bus mastering
before freeing resources, ensuring all DMA is quiesced.
Add pci_set_master() to pdsc_setup() to re-enable bus mastering,
which is needed for the firmware recovery path since pdsc_teardown()
now disables it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cxl/region: Validate partition index before array access
construct_region() reads cxled->part and uses it to index
cxlds->part[] without checking for a negative value. If the
partition was never resolved, part remains at its initial value
of -1, causing an out-of-bounds array access.
Add a guard to return -EBUSY when part is negative.
The check was dropped during a merge. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu/ras: add ras_suspend callback and use it for cp_ecc_error_irq
cp_ecc_error_irq is acquired in amdgpu_gfx_ras_late_init() but
released in gfx_v9_0_hw_fini(), so the put site has to query
amdgpu_irq_enabled() because the get is skipped on SR-IOV VF.
ras_late_init / ras_fini have no suspend counterpart, so move the
put to amdgpu_gfx_ras_suspend() / amdgpu_gfx_ras_fini() and add a
matching ras_suspend callback that is invoked from
amdgpu_ras_suspend() before disable_all_features(). The get and
put now sit in the same place and check the same condition (not
VF, funcs registered), no refcount querying needed.
An active flag gates ras_fini so the
suspend-then-unload-without-resume path falls into
amdgpu_ras_block_late_fini_default() instead of double-releasing
what ras_suspend already cleaned up.
Drop the cp_ecc_error_irq put from gfx_v9_0_hw_fini(). gfx_v8_0
manages cp_ecc_error_irq locally and is unaffected; no other GFX
generation has this IRQ. |
| An out-of-bounds read in libXi's XListInputDevices() in libXi before 1.8.4 could be used by malicious X servers to crash an attached X client. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/umem: Be careful about boundary conditions in ib_umem_find_best_pgsz()
Several corner cases, especially important on 32 bits:
- umem->iova is u64, the function argument should pass in u64 or
iova will be truncated
- Check that the length is not too large for the iova
- Check that lengths > 4G don't overflow the GENMASK |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix maximum allowed access checks
The DACL permission check looks for an ACE matching the current user and
falls back to the Everyone ACE. It does not consider an Authenticated
Users ACE, even though an authenticated session is a member of that
well-known group.
As a result, opening a file whose access is granted through S-1-5-11 can
incorrectly fail with STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. Treat an Authenticated Users
ACE as a fallback entry alongside Everyone.
The maximal access calculation also combines access masks from every ACE,
regardless of whether its SID applies to the current user. This can grant
rights belonging to an unrelated principal. Process only ACEs applying to
the user, Everyone, or Authenticated Users, and accumulate allowed and
denied masks in ACL order. Preserve explicitly requested access bits so
they are validated against the resulting maximal mask.
When ACCESS_SYSTEM_SECURITY is denied, report STATUS_PRIVILEGE_NOT_HELD
instead of the generic STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. Access to the system ACL
requires a security privilege that ksmbd does not grant.
For regular files, include FILE_EXECUTE in maximal access when the client
requested GENERIC_EXECUTE and the DACL grants the complete file-read set.
Keep a direct FILE_EXECUTE request subject to the explicit DACL bit. This
matches the POSIX file ACL mapping without broadening specific execute
requests.
Do not replace rights from an applicable NT ACE with a POSIX ACL entry.
The POSIX ACL is only a fallback when no user, Everyone, or Authenticated
Users ACE applies; otherwise it can incorrectly broaden the stored DACL.
This fixes smb2.maximum_allowed.maximum_allowed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
greybus: audio: bound the topology section sizes against the fetched size
gb_audio_gb_get_topology() fetches a topology blob of a module-supplied
size, and gbaudio_tplg_parse_data() then walks it by adding the
module-supplied size_dais, size_controls and size_widgets fields to
form the control, widget and route section offsets. Those le32 sizes
are never checked against the fetched blob, so a module reporting a
small topology size but large section sizes makes the offsets point
past the allocation, and parsing reads out of bounds.
Reject a topology whose section sizes do not fit within the fetched
size before it is parsed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
PCI/pwrctrl: tc9563: Fix parsing the integrated Ethernet MAC Endpoint node
DSP3 has an integrated Ethernet MAC Endpoint which has its own set of
config registers for configuring settings such as ASPM. The Endpoint device
has two physical functions and those two functions share the same settings.
Parse the Endpoint node under DSP3 instead of parsing both functions. The
existing parsing logic also has one OOB issue as parsing both functions
will result in accessing past the tc9563_pwrctrl->cfg array. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
LoongArch: Add DIRECT_MAP_PHYSMEM_END definition
get_free_mem_region() and mhp_get_pluggable_range() bound their search
to DIRECT_MAP_PHYSMEM_END. LoongArch does not define it, so the fallback
in include/linux/mm.h applies: under CONFIG_SPARSEMEM_VMEMMAP it is
(1ULL << MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS) - 1, a compile-time constant that does not
adapt to the CPU's physical address space bits (cpu_pabits, probed from
CPUCFG1).
The vmemmap window only covers physical space below 2^(cpu_pabits+1)
(i.e. VMEMMAP_SIZE), so on CPUs with fewer physical address bits than
MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS the fallback allows get_free_mem_region() to return
a ZONE_DEVICE region outside the vmemmap window; vmemmap_populate() then
wraps the memmap range around and maps it into low memory, silently
corrupting the page tables. The same search also picked the top-of-
address-space region that crashed memmap_init_zone_device() with amdkfd
on Loongson-3C6000 in 6.16 [1]; the commit 2969b42c8f99 ("LoongArch/mm:
align vmemmap to maximal folio size") keeps that region in bounds on
current Loongson-3C6000 configs, but CPUs with smaller cpu_pabits (e.g.
the Loongson-2K series) are still affected.
Define DIRECT_MAP_PHYSMEM_END as the vmemmap-covered physical range,
(1ULL << (cpu_pabits + 1)) - 1, capped at (1ULL << MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS) - 1
under CONFIG_SPARSEMEM, similar to the commit f3336b48cf9d ("riscv: mm:
Define DIRECT_MAP_PHYSMEM_END").

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfsd: add missing read barrier to rpc_status_get dumpit seqcount retry
The hand-rolled seqcount-like protocol in nfsd_nl_rpc_status_get_dumpit()
is missing a read memory barrier (smp_rmb) before its second counter
check. The standard kernel read_seqcount_retry() includes smp_rmb()
to ensure that all data reads complete before the counter is re-checked.
Without this barrier, on weakly-ordered architectures (ARM, POWER),
the CPU may reorder field reads past the second counter check, making
the retry logic ineffective: it could observe a consistent counter pair
while reading fields that have been concurrently modified by the writer.
Add smp_rmb() before the second counter check to order the field reads
ahead of it, matching the barrier semantics of the standard seqcount
read-side. The begin-side smp_load_acquire() already pairs with the
smp_store_release() in nfsd_dispatch(); with the smp_rmb() now ordering
the field reads, the retry check no longer needs acquire semantics and
reads the counter with a plain READ_ONCE(), as read_seqcount_retry()
does.
[ cel: Use READ_ONCE instead of smp_load_acquire() ] |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
phy: fsl-imx8mq-usb: fix typec switch leak on probe error path
If probe fails after imx95_usb_phy_get_tca() succeeds, the typec
switch leaks because the only cleanup path was in .remove(), which
never runs on probe failure.
Use devm_add_action_or_reset() so the switch is cleaned up on both
probe failure and driver removal. The imx95_usb_phy_put_tca() is no
longer needed, it will be removed in .remove() too. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: au1000: move free_irq out of the close-time spinlocked section
au1000_close() calls free_irq() while aup->lock is still held with
spin_lock_irqsave(). free_irq() can sleep because it takes the IRQ
descriptor request mutex, so it does not belong inside the close-time
spinlocked section.
This was found by our static analysis tool and then confirmed by manual
review of the in-tree au1000_close() .ndo_stop path. The reviewed path
keeps aup->lock held across the MAC reset, queue stop and
free_irq(dev->irq, dev).
A directed runtime validation kept that ndo_stop carrier and the same
free_irq(dev->irq, dev) operation under the driver lock. Lockdep reported
"BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context" and "Invalid wait
context" while free_irq() was taking desc->request_mutex, with
au1000_close() and free_irq() on the stack.
Drop aup->lock before freeing the IRQ. The protected close-time work still
stops the device and queue before IRQ teardown, but the sleepable IRQ core
path now runs outside the spinlocked section. |

spi: Add NULL check for spi_get_device_id() in spi_get_device_match_data()
Prevent NULL pointer dereference when spi_get_device_id() returns NULL,
which can happen when using driver_override without matching SPI ID entry. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: rockchip: rockchip_pdm: Handle runtime PM resume failures in set_fmt
rockchip_pdm_set_fmt() calls pm_runtime_get_sync() before accessing
hardware registers, but ignores its return value.
If the runtime resume fails, the function continues to perform register
accesses while the device state is undefined.
Replace pm_runtime_get_sync() with pm_runtime_resume_and_get() and
return early on failure to avoid unpowered register accesses. |

btrfs: balance: fix potential bg lookup failure in btrfs_may_alloc_data_chunk()
[BUG]
Running btrfs balance can trigger a null-ptr-deref before relocating a
data chunk when metadata corruption leaves a chunk in the chunk tree
without a corresponding block group in the in-memory cache:
KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000088-0x000000000000008f]
RIP: 0010:btrfs_may_alloc_data_chunk+0x40/0x1c0 fs/btrfs/volumes.c:3601
Call Trace:

btrfs_ioctl_balance fs/btrfs/ioctl.c:3577 [inline]
btrfs_ioctl+0x25cf/0x5b90 fs/btrfs/ioctl.c:5313
...
[CAUSE]
__btrfs_balance() iterates the on-disk chunk tree and passes the chunk
logical bytenr to btrfs_may_alloc_data_chunk() before relocating a data
chunk. That helper then queries the in-memory block group cache:
cache = btrfs_lookup_block_group(fs_info, chunk_offset);
chunk_type = cache->flags; /* cache may be NULL */
A corrupt image can contain a chunk item whose matching block group
item is missing, so no block group is ever inserted into the cache. In
that case btrfs_lookup_block_group() returns NULL.
The code only guards this with ASSERT(cache), which becomes a no-op when
CONFIG_BTRFS_ASSERT is disabled. The subsequent dereference of
cache->flags therefore crashes the kernel.
[FIX]
Add a NULL check after btrfs_lookup_block_group() in
btrfs_may_alloc_data_chunk() and print and error message for clarity. |
