CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i40e: Fix DMA mappings leak
During reallocation of RX buffers, new DMA mappings are created for
those buffers.
steps for reproduction:
while :
do
for ((i=0; i<=8160; i=i+32))
do
ethtool -G enp130s0f0 rx $i tx $i
sleep 0.5
ethtool -g enp130s0f0

This resulted in crash:

This was caused because of new buffers with different RX ring count should
substitute older ones, but those buffers were freed in
i40e_configure_rx_ring and reallocated again with i40e_alloc_rx_bi,
thus kfree on rx_bi caused leak of already mapped DMA.
Fix this by reallocating ZC with rx_bi_zc struct when BPF program loads. Additionally
reallocate back to rx_bi when BPF program unloads.
If BPF program is loaded/unloaded and XSK pools are created, reallocate
RX queues accordingly in XSP_SETUP_XSK_POOL handler. |
| In the Linux kernel before 4.8, usb_parse_endpoint in drivers/usb/core/config.c does not validate the wMaxPacketSize field of an endpoint descriptor. NOTE: This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the supplier. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xtensa: simdisk: add input size check in proc_write_simdisk
A malicious user could pass an arbitrarily bad value
to memdup_user_nul(), potentially causing kernel crash.
This follows the same pattern as commit ee76746387f6
("netdevsim: prevent bad user input in nsim_dev_health_break_write()") |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: fix race when deleting quota root from the dirty cow roots list
When disabling quotas we are deleting the quota root from the list
fs_info->dirty_cowonly_roots without taking the lock that protects it,
which is struct btrfs_fs_info::trans_lock. This unsynchronized list
manipulation may cause chaos if there's another concurrent manipulation
of this list, such as when adding a root to it with
ctree.c:add_root_to_dirty_list().
This can result in all sorts of weird failures caused by a race, such as
the following crash:

ext4_es_end --> Wrong extents trigger BUG_ON
In the above issue, s_usr_quota_inum is set to 5, but inode<5> contains
incorrect imode and disordered extents. Because 5 is EXT4_BOOT_LOADER_INO,
the ext4_ext_check_inode check in the ext4_iget function can be bypassed,
finally, the extents that are not checked trigger the BUG_ON in the
__es_tree_search function. To solve this issue, check whether the inode is
bad_inode in vfs_setup_quota_inode(). |

ice: prevent NULL pointer deref during reload
Calling ethtool during reload can lead to call trace, because VSI isn't
configured for some time, but netdev is alive.
To fix it add rtnl lock for VSI deconfig and config. Set ::num_q_vectors

ethtool ops.
Add proper unroll of filters in ice_start_eth().

ext4: verify orphan file size is not too big
In principle orphan file can be arbitrarily large. However orphan replay
needs to traverse it all and we also pin all its buffers in memory. Thus
filesystems with absurdly large orphan files can lead to big amounts of
memory consumed. Limit orphan file size to a sane value and also use
kvmalloc() for allocating array of block descriptor structures to avoid
large order allocations for sane but large orphan files. |

rxrpc: Fix timeout of a call that hasn't yet been granted a channel
afs_make_call() calls rxrpc_kernel_begin_call() to begin a call (which may
get stalled in the background waiting for a connection to become
available); it then calls rxrpc_kernel_set_max_life() to set the timeouts -
but that starts the call timer so the call timer might then expire before
we get a connection assigned - leading to the following oops if the call
stalled:

Fix this by noting the timeouts in struct rxrpc_call when the call is
created. The timer will be started when the first packet is transmitted.
It shouldn't be possible to trigger this directly from userspace through
AF_RXRPC as sendmsg() will return EBUSY if the call is in the
waiting-for-conn state if it dropped out of the wait due to a signal. |

mailbox: zynqmp-ipi: Fix SGI cleanup on unbind
The driver incorrectly determines SGI vs SPI interrupts by checking IRQ
number < 16, which fails with dynamic IRQ allocation. During unbind,
this causes improper SGI cleanup leading to kernel crash.
Add explicit irq_type field to pdata for reliable identification of SGI
interrupts (type-2) and only clean up SGI resources when appropriate. |

PM / devfreq: mtk-cci: Fix potential error pointer dereference in probe()
The drv->sram_reg pointer could be set to ERR_PTR(-EPROBE_DEFER) which

Do not allow gso_size to be set to GSO_BY_FRAGS (0xffff),

Syskaller reports a "WARNING in ovl_copy_up_file" in overlayfs.

This commit checks for a negative file size and returns EINVAL.

Commit a1d767191096 ("md: use mddev->external to select holder in

blkdev_get_by_dev() while 'rdev' is used for blkdev_put().
However, if mddev->external is changed from 0 to 1, then 'rdev' is used
for blkdev_get_by_dev() while 'claim_rdev' is used for blkdev_put(). And
this problem can be reporduced reliably by following:

ret_from_fork+0x22/0x30
[CAUSE]
Before the BUG_ON(), we got some read errors from the replace target
first, note the mirror number (3, which is beyond RAID1 duplication,
thus it's read from the replace target device).
Then at the BUG_ON() location, we are trying to writeback the repaired
sectors back the failed device.
The check looks like this:
ret = btrfs_map_block(fs_info, BTRFS_MAP_WRITE, logical,
&map_length, &bioc, mirror_num);
if (ret)
goto out_counter_dec;
BUG_ON(mirror_num != bioc->mirror_num);
But inside btrfs_map_block(), we can modify bioc->mirror_num especially
for dev-replace:
if (dev_replace_is_ongoing && mirror_num == map->num_stripes + 1 &&
!need_full_stripe(op) && dev_replace->tgtdev != NULL) {
ret = get_extra_mirror_from_replace(fs_info, logical, *length,
dev_replace->srcdev->devid,
&mirror_num,
&physical_to_patch_in_first_stripe);
patch_the_first_stripe_for_dev_replace = 1;
}
Thus if we're repairing the replace target device, we're going to
trigger that BUG_ON().
But in reality, the read failure from the replace target device may be
that, our replace hasn't reached the range we're reading, thus we're
reading garbage, but with replace running, the range would be properly
filled later.
Thus in that case, we don't need to do anything but let the replace
routine to handle it.
[FIX]
Instead of a BUG_ON(), just skip the repair if we're repairing the
device replace target device. |
