CVE-2026-18508 2 Gnu, Redhat 8 Tar, Discovery, Enterprise Linux and 5 more 2026-09-22 4.4 Medium
A flaw was found in GNU tar. When extracting an archive with the --one-top-level option, hardlink targets are not confined to the designated top-level directory and may resolve relative to the extraction working directory. A crafted archive can create hardlinks that escape the intended boundary and, when combined with a preexisting symbolic link under the working directory, may allow writing outside that boundary during a single extraction.
CVE-2026-18477 2 Gnu, Redhat 8 Tar, Discovery, Enterprise Linux and 5 more 2026-09-22 4.4 Medium
A TOCTOU (Time-of-Check Time-of-Use) vulnerability in GNU tar's incremental dumpdir 'X' rename handling allows a local attacker with write access to a directory being backed up to influence the restore process if the attacker has access to the system where the restore is being performed. During restoration, files or directories may be created, renamed or overwritten outside the intended extraction directory. This could lead to unauthorized file modification or, in some cases, privilege escalation. Exploitation does not require the attacker to modify or craft the archive, and standard backup and restore workflows—including extracting into a newly created directory without using the -P option do not mitigate the issue.
CVE-2026-5704 2 Gnu, Redhat 6 Tar, Discovery, Enterprise Linux and 3 more 2026-09-22 5 Medium
A flaw was found in tar. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by crafting a malicious archive, leading to hidden file injection with fully attacker-controlled content. This bypasses pre-extraction inspection mechanisms, potentially allowing an attacker to introduce malicious files onto a system without detection.

CVE-2026-95831 2026-09-22 7.8 High
Crypt::SelfCertificate versions from 1.01 through 1.05 for Perl contains malware which executes Python code from an obfuscated URL. The generate_certificate runs a Python script saved as a certificate file. The pyhton script attempts to retrieve code from a hardcoded http URL that is obfuscated with base64 encoding and run the response body directly. The impact is that arbitrary code can be invoked as the user, without a dropped script being saved on the affected host. The releases have no test scripts nor build hooks. The intention may have been to trigger the payload after installation. For version 1.01, the dropper script is in lib/Crypt/SelfCertificate/sample/validate.p12. For version 1.05, the dropper script is in lib/Crypt/SelfCertificate/sample/cert7.pem. The SHA-256 digests of the files are fbff21f45ff748365062a5e36fb2d72558cad82a507a6f357f320b4fcdf07760 Crypt-SelfCertificate-1.01.tar.gz 27b2d2d3174ad771474fff2521f5084ec231e9218ea8c832515aef1cbd5897bc lib/Crypt/SelfCertificate/sample/validate.p12 9fdfa7d69b034b77d4510cda567e8da1e486ca81c7daaadc5732a45c41d71991 Crypt-SelfCertificate-1.05.tar.gz 27b2d2d3174ad771474fff2521f5084ec231e9218ea8c832515aef1cbd5897bc lib/Crypt/SelfCertificate/sample/cert7.pem
CVE-2026-94109 1 Openequella 1 Openequella 2026-09-22 8 High
openEQUELLA before 2026.1.0 contains an authenticated stored server-side template injection vulnerability in FreemarkerPortletRenderer.renderHtml() that allows any authenticated non-guest user to achieve remote code execution by storing a malicious FreeMarker payload through a POST request to the RemotePortletService invoker endpoint. The markup field from stored portlet configuration is passed directly to custFactory.createResult() without a TemplateClassResolver restriction or FreeMarker sandboxing in BasicConfiguration, leaving built-ins such as ?new and freemarker.template.utility.Execute available, causing the payload to execute in the application server process context when any user renders a dashboard containing the affected portlet.

CVE-2026-87121 2026-09-22 9.8 Critical
lwIP TCP/IP Stack MQTT is vulnerable to an out-of-bounds write, which may allow an attacker to gain full code execution on the device.
CVE-2026-85999 1 Facelessuser 1 Soupsieve 2026-09-22 5.3 Medium
Soup Sieve is a CSS selector library designed to be used with Beautiful Soup 4. Prior to 2.9, selector_iter in src/soupsieve/css_parser.py trims the raw selector with RE_WS_END, an end-anchored WSC whitespace-and-comment expression used with search(), so the regular expression engine retries a greedy scan at every starting offset. An attacker-controlled valid selector containing a long internal whitespace run, or a selector containing a long CSS comment run followed by another token, causes quadratic CPU work before tokenization. User-controlled selectors can reach the path through soupsieve.compile() and BeautifulSoup.select(), while applications using only hard-coded selectors are unaffected. This root cause is separate from the IDENTIFIER and VALUE backtracking vulnerability because the cost occurs in RE_WS_END.search during trimming rather than token matching. The resulting CPU consumption can hold the Python GIL, exhaust workers, and stall a service without causing memory corruption or code execution. The issue is fixed in version 2.9.
