CVE-2024-6237 1 Redhat 4 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2026-11-06 6.5 Medium
A flaw was found in the 389 Directory Server. This flaw allows an unauthenticated user to cause a systematic server crash while sending a specific extended search request, leading to a denial of service.
CVE-2026-12528 1 Redhat 4 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2026-11-06 5.4 Medium
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server in the __aclp__normalize_acltxt() function of aclparse.c. A malformed ACI (Access Control Instruction) string can trigger heap-buffer-overflow writes and reads during ACI parsing. The function fails to validate that the ACI keyword has sufficient length after whitespace stripping, leading to a 1-byte out-of-bounds write and subsequent out-of-bounds reads. An authenticated user with write access to the aci attribute could send a crafted ACI value to silently corrupt heap memory in the directory server process.
CVE-2026-15041 1 Redhat 5 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2026-11-06 3.7 Low
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The PBKDF2-SHA256 password verification function uses standard memcmp() for comparing password hashes instead of a constant-time comparison function. A remote attacker could potentially use timing measurements of LDAP bind attempts to infer partial hash information, though practical exploitation is extremely difficult due to PBKDF2 computational overhead.
CVE-2026-11793 1 Redhat 5 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2026-11-06 4.9 Medium
A stack buffer overflow flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The checkPrefix() function in pw.c copies an attacker-controlled algorithm ID into a 256-byte stack buffer without bounds checking when parsing reversible-encrypted attribute values. An attacker with Directory Manager privileges can crash the LDAP server by storing a crafted credential with an oversized algorithm ID. FORTIFY_SOURCE mitigates this to denial of service only.
CVE-2026-11792 1 Redhat 4 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Redhat Directory Server and 1 more 2026-11-06 3.3 Low
A heap buffer overflow flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. When audit logging is enabled, the create_masked_entry_string() function in auditlog.c copies a fixed-length password mask into a precisely-sized heap buffer without checking available space. If a short cleartext password is logged (requiring non-default CLEAR password storage or a compromised replication peer), the copy overflows the buffer, corrupting heap memory and audit log output.
CVE-2026-11786 1 Redhat 5 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2026-11-06 1.9 Low
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The LDIF parser reads past the end of a heap buffer when processing attribute types with trailing semicolons during database import, causing an out-of-bounds read detectable under memory instrumentation.
CVE-2025-3416 1 Redhat 6 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Openshift and 3 more 2026-11-06 3.7 Low
A flaw was found in OpenSSL's handling of the properties argument in certain functions. This vulnerability can allow use-after-free exploitation, which may result in undefined behavior or incorrect property parsing, leading to OpenSSL treating the input as an empty string.
CVE-2026-86345 1 Redhat 4 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Redhat Directory Server and 1 more 2026-11-06 9 Critical
A flaw was found in 389-ds-base. The server does not discard plaintext bytes already buffered from a client connection when negotiating StartTLS, allowing an on-path attacker to inject a crafted LDAP message that is processed after the TLS upgrade and whose response is delivered to the client in place of the client's own pending operation's response, due to messageID collision. This can cause a client application to treat a failed authentication (bind) attempt as successful.
CVE-2026-78701 1 Redhat 3 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Els 2026-11-06 6.5 Medium
A flaw was found in 389-ds-base. A remote, authenticated attacker could exploit a vulnerability in the Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) UNBIND process. By sending a specially crafted request, the attacker can cause a connection to stall, leading to resource exhaustion and a Denial of Service (DoS) for the server.
CVE-2026-19404 1 Redhat 4 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Redhat Directory Server and 1 more 2026-11-05 6.5 Medium
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The CleanAllRUV and Abort CleanAllRUV replication-maintenance extended operations perform no authorization check, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to invoke them when nsslapd-allow-anonymous-access is enabled (the default), or any authenticated low-privilege user to invoke them otherwise. This allows removal of a replica ID from replication metadata, purging of changelog records, and interruption of administrator-initiated cleanup, which can leave replication inconsistent or unavailable.
CVE-2026-18663 1 Redhat 3 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Els 2026-11-05 5.9 Medium
A flaw was found in 389-ds-base. The get_ldapmessage_controls_ext() function frees the parsed controls array on the Session Tracking critical-control rejection path without clearing the SLAPI_REQCONTROLS pblock slot. Operation teardown then frees the same pointer again, causing a double-free. An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger this with a single BIND request carrying a critical Session Tracking control, resulting in heap corruption and potential denial of service.
CVE-2026-18651 2 Red Hat, Redhat 6 Enterprise Linux, 389 Directory Server, Directory Server and 3 more 2026-11-05 5.4 Medium
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. During SASL PLAIN authentication, the server installs connection-level bind credentials before performing the account-lock check. If the account is subsequently found to be locked, the bind is reported as failed to the client, but the already-installed authenticated state on the connection is not reverted. A client that supplies valid credentials for an account that has been administratively locked can continue to use the same connection with that account's privileges, defeating account lock as an access-revocation control.
CVE-2026-16560 1 Redhat 3 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Els 2026-11-05 5.3 Medium
A heap-buffer-overflow flaw was found in Directory Server (389-ds-base). When a DN contains a legacy-quoted value, the server won't close the heap allocation allowing another call to refer to the same memory pointer causing a denial of service or an arbitrary memory write operation.
CVE-2026-14969 1 Redhat 4 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2026-11-05 4.4 Medium
A flaw was found in 389-ds-base where the LDBM backend attribute encryption uses a hardcoded static initialization vector for AES-CBC and 3DES-CBC operations, allowing an attacker with privileged filesystem access to detect plaintext equality across encrypted entries by comparing ciphertext blocks.
CVE-2026-14940 1 Redhat 4 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2026-11-05 5.3 Medium
A heap-buffer-overflow flaw was found in 389 Directory Server (389-ds-base). When normalizing a Distinguished Name (DN) that contains a legacy-quoted value encoding a multivalued nested Relative Distinguished Name (RDN), the server can write past the end of a heap allocation while sorting RDN attribute-value pairs. An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger this condition by sending an LDAP operation whose DN reaches the DN normalization routine, such as a search with a crafted base DN. This can corrupt heap memory and may cause denial of service.
CVE-2026-117548 2 Red Hat, Redhat 5 Enterprise Linux, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2026-11-05 6.5 Medium
A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in 389-ds-base. This flaw occurs when a ModifyDN (rename) operation uses an attribute's schema alias name (such as "commonName") instead of its canonical name (such as "cn") as the new relative distinguished name. An authenticated attacker with the ModifyDN (rename) permission on the affected entry can use this flaw to crash the directory server, causing a denial of service.
CVE-2026-11884 1 Redhat 4 Directory Server, Enterprise Linux, Redhat Directory Server and 1 more 2026-11-05 6.5 Medium
A heap buffer overflow flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. When serializing objectclass definitions, the oc_superior (SUP) field length is omitted from buffer size calculations in read_schema_dse() and schema_oc_to_string(), but the field is still written via strcat(). An attacker with Directory Manager privileges, or a compromised replication supplier, can trigger a server crash by creating objectclasses with long SUP values. This is an incomplete fix variant of CVE-2025-14905.
CVE-2026-11791 1 Redhat 4 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 1 more 2026-11-05 5 Medium
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. During schema reload, the attr_syntax_swap_ht() function unconditionally frees attribute syntax information nodes, bypassing the refcount-based deferred deletion used elsewhere in the attribute syntax subsystem. If an administrator triggers schema reload while concurrent LDAP query traffic is active, worker threads may access freed memory, resulting in use-after-free or double-free and a denial of service (server crash).
CVE-2026-11790 1 Redhat 5 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2026-11-05 4.9 Medium
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The PBKDF2-SHA256 password storage plugin does not enforce an upper bound on the iteration count extracted from stored password hashes. A privileged attacker who can modify a user's password hash can cause excessive CPU consumption during authentication, resulting in denial of service.
CVE-2026-11789 1 Redhat 5 389 Directory Server, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 2 more 2026-11-05 4.9 Medium
A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The SMD5 password storage plugin performs unsigned integer underflow when computing salt length from a crafted password hash shorter than 16 bytes, causing a buffer over-read that crashes the LDAP server during authentication.
