CVSS v3.1 |
| The Symfony Routing components CompiledUrlMatcher and UrlMatcher interpret the host and path information differently, allowing path-based authorization rules to be bypassed in Symfony versions prior to 5.4.56, 6.x prior to 6.4.50, 7.x prior to 7.4.23, and 8.x prior to 8.1.11.
For routes that define a host, CompiledUrlMatcher matches the string $host.'.'.$pathinfo against the host regular expression followed by the path regular expression, while UrlMatcher matches the host and the path separately. A host placeholder can therefore match /, and consume the beginning of the path, so the request is routed to a controller, while UrlMatcher would find no route. Rules that look at the path, such as access_control entries and firewall patterns, are evaluated against the actual request path, so they do not apply while the controller of the route runs, potentially allowing an unauthenticated request to reach a protected controller. For example, with the route /admin/report/{id}, the host app.{domain} and the rule access_control: [{ path: ^/admin, roles: ROLE_ADMIN }], an anonymous request for /admin/report/1 is sent to the login page. A request with the Host header app and path /x./admin/report/1 instead reaches the controller, with domain="/x". With the required domain: .+, the real hostname works: app.example.com and /x./admin/report/1 match with domain="example.com./x".
Applications are affected if they have routes with host placeholders protected by path-based rules. With the default requirement, the Host header must be the host of the route without its last labels, such as app: framework.trusted_hosts blocks that, while a web server that only serves known names may not, for instance, Nginx passing the raw Host header to FastCGI for a request line that carries an absolute URI. If the requirement accepts /, such as .+, a real hostname works, and trusted_hosts does not help. |
| Vite is a frontend tooling framework for JavaScript. From 6.4.4 until 6.4.5, the Vite development server can evaluate server.fs.deny before stripping loader query parameters such as ?raw, ?import&raw, or ?import&url&inline. When the development server is exposed to the network and a sensitive file is inside server.fs.allow but matched by server.fs.deny, an unauthenticated attacker can append one of these queries and retrieve the denied file. This issue is fixed in version 6.4.5. |
| Echo is a Go web framework. Prior to 4.16.0 and 5.4.0, a globally mounted middleware.Static instance can interpret an encoded request path differently from Echo's router because the router matches the still-encoded path while the static handler uses the decoded URL.Path. The advisory demonstrates an encoded slash resolving to a file under the static root through the global static middleware, but the source is internally inconsistent about whether a route or group guard protects the corresponding literal path in that global-mount configuration. This issue is fixed in 4.16.0 and 5.4.0. |
| @hono/node-server allows running the Hono application on Node.js. From 1.19.10 until 2.1.3, serveStatic decodes a request path a second time after Hono has already decoded it for routing, so a malformed percent-encoded sequence can make route middleware evaluate an encoded path while static file resolution uses a different directory. An unauthenticated attacker can bypass middleware mounted on a protected static prefix and read a file inside the configured static root, although the flaw does not permit traversal outside that root. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.3. |
| A flaw was found in Quarkus HTTP security. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit a discrepancy in how paths are normalized between the security matcher and HTTP request dispatchers. This allows the attacker to craft a URL that the security matcher considers public, but which is then routed to a protected endpoint, leading to an authorization bypass and potential unauthorized access to sensitive information. |
| Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.20 and 1.7.x before 1.7.5 allows the disabled_actions configuration setting to be bypassed. The check compared only the action name as requested, so a remote authenticated attacker could reach an action listed in disabled_actions by requesting it through its deprecated alias instead. Upstream fixed this in the commit “Fix bug where deprecated action aliases bypassed `disabled_actions` setting”, which moves the check into rcmail::action_handler() and resolves aliases before comparing. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-31 and 6.9.13-56, a crafted image can bypass an ImageMagick security policy that uses coder as its domain, potentially allowing data prohibited by the policy to be read. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-31 and 6.9.13-56. |
| Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 4.12.4 until 4.13.11, serveStatic can interpret a malformed percent-encoded path differently from upstream routing middleware and bypass protection for a static prefix. The root cause is serveStatic decodes a routed request path a second time before filesystem lookup. The attack mechanism is malformed percent encoding survives the first routing interpretation and becomes a protected path only during the later static-file decode. The affected component is serveStatic. The trigger conditions are an application protects a static prefix with upstream middleware and serveStatic receives an attacker-controlled malformed percent-encoded path. The impact is unauthorized disclosure of a static file that upstream middleware was intended to protect. The issue does not permit traversal outside the configured static root. This issue is fixed in version 4.13.11. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: xt_policy: fix strict mode inbound policy matching
match_policy_in() walks sec_path entries from the last transform to the
first one, but strict policy matching needs to consume info->pol[] in
the same forward order as the rule layout.
Derive the strict-match policy position from the number of transforms
already consumed so that multi-element inbound rules are matched
consistently. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: xtables: restrict several matches to inet family
This is a partial revert of:
commit ab4f21e6fb1c ("netfilter: xtables: use NFPROTO_UNSPEC in more extensions")
to allow ipv4 and ipv6 only.
- xt_mac
- xt_owner
- xt_physdev
These extensions are not used by ebtables in userspace.
Moreover, xt_realm is only for ipv4, since dst->tclassid is ipv4
specific. |
| Hono from 4.12.4 before 4.13.11 contains a middleware bypass vulnerability in serveStatic that allows unauthenticated attackers to skip prefix middleware by exploiting double path decoding. Attackers can send malformed percent-encoded paths that the router matches in encoded form, reaching static files without authentication checks running. |
| A cross-namespace authorization flaw in multicluster-observability-addon allows a user with permission to modify a managed cluster’s ManagedClusterAddOn configuration to reference ClusterLogForwarder or OpenTelemetryCollector resources outside the permitted namespace. If those resources reference Secrets, the add-on may copy the referenced Secrets to the attacker-controlled managed cluster. |
| Incorrect authorization in Core in Google Chrome on on Windows prior to 153.0.8010.47 allowed a local attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a local program. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| Traefik is an open source HTTP reverse proxy and load balancer. Prior to 2.11.57, and 3.7.13, Traefik accepts a rootless HTTP/1 request target that Go stores in URL.Opaque while leaving URL.Path empty. The rewriteRequestBuilder path evaluates routing, path sanitization, forwardAuth, encodedCharacters, and access logging against a path normalized to / but forwards URL.Opaque verbatim to the backend, allowing cross-vhost routing bypass, path-scoped authorization bypass, and access-log evasion when the backend interprets the opaque target as a path. This issue is fixed in 2.11.57 and 3.7.13. |
| Incorrect authorization in Isolated in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to bypass site isolation via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| fast-uri versions 2.3.1 through 3.1.2 and 4.0.0 fail to canonicalize Unicode (IDN) hostnames for HTTP-family URLs. The IDN conversion path calls a helper that does not exist on the global URL constructor, silently leaving the host in its original Unicode form while normalize() and equal() still return values that differ from a WHATWG-compatible URL parser. Applications that use fast-uri to enforce host-based policy (denylists, loopback filtering, redirect validation, outbound proxy routing) before passing the same URL to Node's URL or fetch can be bypassed when the two implementations resolve the same input to different hosts. Patches: upgrade to fast-uri 3.1.3 for the 3.x line or 4.0.1 for the 4.x line. Workarounds: enforce host policy using the same URL parser used for the actual request, or reject non-ASCII hosts before policy checks. |
| Missing authorization in Omnibox in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to bypass system access restrictions into a privileged page via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| Incorrect authorization in Loader in Google Chrome prior to 153.0.8010.36 allowed a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| IBM Enterprise Build of Quarkus 3.27.1 through 3.27.5, and 3.33.1 through 3.33.3 could allow an attacker to bypass authorization by manipulating URL query parameters due to incorrect mapping of values to untrusted query string input. |
| Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in Erlang OTP (inets modules) allows unauthenticated access to CGI scripts protected by directory rules when served via script_alias.
When script_alias maps a URL prefix to a directory outside DocumentRoot, mod_auth evaluates directory-based access controls against the DocumentRoot-relative path while mod_cgi executes the script at the ScriptAlias-resolved path. This path mismatch allows unauthenticated access to CGI scripts that directory rules were meant to protect.
This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/inets/src/http_server/mod_alias.erl, lib/inets/src/http_server/mod_auth.erl, and lib/inets/src/http_server/mod_cgi.erl.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 26.2.5.19, OTP 27.3.4.10, and OTP 28.4.2, corresponding to inets from 5.10 before 9.1.0.6, 9.3.2.4, and 9.6.2. Whether OTP before OTP 17.0, corresponding to inets before 5.10, is affected is unknown. |
