CVSS v3.1 |
| Parseable is a log analytics platform built for high-volume data ingestion and analysis. Prior to 3.0.0, src/handlers/http/middleware.rs uses unwrap() while parsing the x-amz-firehose-common-attributes header before authentication. A remote unauthenticated attacker can supply non-UTF-8 header data, malformed JSON, or invalid derived header values that trigger a Rust panic and interrupt request handling, allowing repeated requests to deny service or cause container restart loops. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.0. |
| pg_partman is a PostgreSQL extension that manages partitioned tables by time or ID. Prior to 5.5.0, run_maintenance() handles exceptions outside the loop that processes rows from part_config, so an exception for one partition set immediately terminates the loop and skips every later set. A role with partman_user access can insert or update a row that reliably fails and assign it a low maintenance_order value so it is processed before legitimate rows. Repeated maintenance ticks then abort before legitimate partition sets are maintained, causing database-wide loss of automated partition maintenance. This issue is fixed in version 5.5.0. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
csky: Fix a4/a5 restoration in syscall trace path
The syscall trace path reloads syscall arguments from pt_regs before
calling the syscall handler. On C-SKY ABIv2, the 5th and 6th syscall
arguments are prepared as stack arguments before invoking syscallid.
The current code adjusts sp before loading LSAVE_A4 and LSAVE_A5. Since
those offsets are relative to the original pt_regs base, loading them
after changing sp fetches the wrong slots. As a result, traced syscalls
that use the 5th or 6th argument may receive corrupted arguments.
This is visible with mmap2(), which takes six arguments. A small
PTRACE_SYSCALL reproducer opens a file and maps one page with:
mmap(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ | PROT_EXEC, MAP_PRIVATE, fd, 0)
Before the fix, the traced child fails the mmap and exits with 12.
After the fix, the mapping succeeds and the child exits with 0.
Fix the trace path by loading a4/a5 from pt_regs before changing sp.
Tested on: ck860f, linux-4.19.15, C-SKY abiv2 |
| Higress before 2.2.4 panics when processing a Cookie header segment without an equals sign, causing the plugin wrapper to recover and return a continue action that bypasses AI token rate limiting. Unauthenticated attackers can craft a malformed Cookie header to skip rate limit checks and exceed thresholds intended to restrict costly model backend calls. |
| Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. In netty-codec-haproxy prior to versions 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final, when decoding a PP2_TYPE_SSL TLV, HAProxyMessage.readNextTLV() first calls `header.retainedSlice(header.readerIndex(), length)` and only then reads the 1-byte client field and 4-byte verify field. If the attacker sets the TLV length below 5, the subsequent readByte/readInt throws IndexOutOfBoundsException. HAProxyMessageDecoder only catches HAProxyProtocolException around this call, so the IOOBE propagates and the retained slice on the pooled cumulation buffer is never released. Versions 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final patch the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
PCI: Allow per function PCI slots to fix slot reset on s390
On s390 systems, which use a machine level hypervisor, PCI devices are
always accessed through a form of PCI pass-through which fundamentally
operates on a per PCI function granularity. This is also reflected in the
s390 PCI hotplug driver which creates hotplug slots for individual PCI
functions. Its reset_slot() function, which is a wrapper for
zpci_hot_reset_device(), thus also resets individual functions.
Currently, the pci_create_slot() assigns the same pci_slot object to
multifunction devices. This approach worked fine on s390 systems that only
exposed virtual functions as individual PCI domains to the operating
system. Since commit 44510d6fa0c0 ("s390/pci: Handling multifunctions")
s390 supports exposing the topology of multifunction PCI devices by
grouping them in a shared PCI domain. This creates a problem when resetting
a function through the hotplug driver's slot_reset() interface.
When attempting to reset a function through the hotplug driver, the shared
slot assignment causes the wrong function to be reset instead of the
intended one. It also leaks memory as we do create a pci_slot object for
the function, but don't correctly free it in pci_slot_release().
Add a flag for struct pci_slot to allow per function PCI slots for
functions managed through a hypervisor, which exposes individual PCI
functions while retaining the topology. Since we can use all 8 bits for
slot 'number' (for ARI devices), change slot 'number' u16 to account for
special values PCI_SLOT_PLACEHOLDER and PCI_SLOT_ALL_DEVICES. |

| ### Summary
`qs.stringify` throws a `TypeError` when it serializes an object whose own `constructor` property has a truthy, non-callable `isBuffer` member. `utils.isBuffer` duck-types buffers by calling `obj.constructor.isBuffer(obj)` after checking only that the property is truthy, so a value such as `{ constructor: { isBuffer: "x" } }` makes the call throw `TypeError: obj.constructor.isBuffer is not a function`.
### Details
`lib/stringify.js:127` calls `utils.isBuffer` on every non-primitive value it serializes. `utils.isBuffer` (`lib/utils.js:332`) reads `obj.constructor.isBuffer` and invokes it without verifying that it is a function. `constructor` and `isBuffer` are ordinary property names, so any object carrying them as own properties reaches the unchecked call.
Such an object can be built from untrusted input. `qs.parse("x[constructor][isBuffer]=y", { plainObjects: true })` or `{ allowPrototypes: true }` keeps the `constructor` key as an own property (the default parse options drop it), and `JSON.parse("{\"a\":{\"constructor\":{\"isBuffer\":\"x\"}}}")` produces the same shape with no qs option involved. Express 4 with its default `query parser` setting and body-parser with `extended: true` both call `qs.parse` with `allowPrototypes: true`, so on those stacks `req.query` and `req.body` can carry the shape directly.
#### PoC
```js
var qs = require("qs");
qs.stringify(qs.parse("x[constructor][isBuffer]=y", { plainObjects: true }));
qs.stringify(JSON.parse("{\"a\":{\"constructor\":{\"isBuffer\":\"x\"}}}"));
// TypeError: obj.constructor.isBuffer is not a function
// at Object.isBuffer (lib/utils.js:332:78)
// at stringify (lib/stringify.js:127:45)
```
#### Fix
`lib/utils.js`, applied in e83d321 on `main` and released as v6.16.0:
```diff
- return !!(obj.constructor && obj.constructor.isBuffer && obj.constructor.isBuffer(obj));
+ return !!(obj.constructor && typeof obj.constructor.isBuffer === "function" && obj.constructor.isBuffer(obj));
```
Real `Buffer`, `safer-buffer`, and browserify `buffer` polyfill instances serialize exactly as before; only the throw is removed.
### Affected versions
`>=2.2.5 <6.16.0`, fixed in v6.16.0.
The unguarded duck-type was introduced in 3768a75 and first shipped in v2.2.5 (September 2014). v2.2.4 and earlier used `Buffer.isBuffer` and are not affected. Every release from v2.2.5 through v6.15.3 contains the unguarded call.
### Impact
An unauthenticated request can make any code path that re-serializes attacker-influenced data with `qs.stringify` (for example, rebuilding a query string from `req.query` for a redirect or an upstream request, or serializing a parsed JSON body) throw synchronously. In a typical Node.js HTTP framework the throw is caught by the framework error boundary and the affected request returns a 500; the process survives and other requests are unaffected. Where the call runs outside an error boundary, such as an `async` Express 4 handler (where the throw becomes an unhandled promise rejection) or a background job, the process exits, so the impact in that case depends on the application error handling rather than on qs. |
