CVSS v3.1 |
| AG2 is an open-source AgentOS. From 0.13.2 until ag2 1.1.1, and from autogen 0.13.2 to 0.14.1, SandboxShellTool configurations using allowed=[...] or readonly=True rely on ShellAdapter._filter and contains_shell_operator in ag2/tools/sandbox/filter.py and ag2/tools/sandbox/adapter/shell.py to validate a command prefix and reject selected shell syntax. The filter omits newline and carriage-return separators, while the accepted raw string is passed to sh -c, allowing an attacker-influenced agent command to execute an additional arbitrary statement. With the default LocalEnvironment backend, the injected statement runs as a host subprocess with the privileges of the agent process and can affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This issue is fixed in ag2 version 1.1.1. |
| A stack out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in gfs2-utils. In savemeta, the height value from on-disk inode metadata is used as a loop bound without bounds checking, causing a stack buffer overflow that may lead to arbitrary code execution when processing crafted GFS2 filesystem images. |
| A stack out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in gfs2-utils. In gfs2_edit, the di_height field from on-disk inode metadata is used as an array index without bounds checking, causing a stack buffer overflow that may lead to arbitrary code execution when processing crafted GFS2 filesystem images. |
| A flaw was found in iperf3. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit a vulnerability in the `JSON_read()` function, which accepts a peer-controlled message length and allocates memory without an upper bound. This allows the attacker to trigger excessive memory consumption, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) through memory exhaustion, severe slowdown, or termination of the iperf3 service. |
| LibreOffice includes a dBASE database driver, which reads dBASE tables and their .ndx index files when a folder of dBASE files is used as a data source. A heap buffer overflow existed when an index page was read. The number of entries recorded in a page was not checked against the number of entries the page could hold, which comes from a different field of the index header. A crafted index could also make a page refer back to itself, so that reading it recursed without end. In fixed versions the index header and the entry count of each page are limited to what an index page can hold, and a page that refers back to one of its parent pages is not followed. |
| A web page that contains unusual WebGPU content loaded into the GPU GLES render process can trigger an OOB write in the GPU user-space driver, leading to memory corruption and possible browser/GPU process crash.
The software writes data past the end of an intended memory offset. Writing outside the bounds of allocated memory can corrupt adjacent memory, crash the process, or cause undefined behaviour. |
| AFFLIB through 3.7.22 contains a heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability in af_get_page() that allows attackers to corrupt heap memory by supplying crafted AFF images with mismatched page and sector sizes. Attackers can set a page size larger than and not a multiple of the sector size, causing the sector zero-fill loop to write past the buffer and crash forensic tools. |
| In onOutputReceived of FrameDecoder.cpp, there is a possible out-of-bounds write due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to remote code execution with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| Dell OpenManage Enterprise, versions prior to 4.8.0, contains an Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Command execution. |
| A flaw was found in dnsmasq. A remote attacker could exploit an out-of-bounds write vulnerability by sending a specially crafted BOOTREPLY (Bootstrap Protocol Reply) packet to a dnsmasq server configured with the `--dhcp-split-relay` option. This can lead to memory corruption, causing the dnsmasq daemon to crash and resulting in a denial of service (DoS). |
| FreeSWITCH is an open-source software telecommunications platform. From 1.10.0 to 1.11.1, there is a stack-based buffer overflow in mod_sofia when processing SIP Contact display names for dialog-event notifications. A peer can establish a dialog containing an excessively long display name and subsequently subscribe to that entity’s dialog events, causing the stored value to overflow a fixed 512-byte stack buffer. Exploitation requires presence management to be enabled, directly or through shared appearance, and normally requires valid profile credentials unless subscription authentication is disabled. The overflow can terminate the FreeSWITCH process and all active calls. This vulnerability is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, msrp_parse_buffer() subtracted delimiter framing from a peer-controlled short segment whose MSRP byte range ended in * without first proving the segment was long enough. The unsigned result wrapped near SIZE_MAX and reached switch_msrp_msg_set_payload() as both an allocation size and memcpy length, while related pointer arithmetic could read before the receive buffer. The listener is disabled by default in msrp.conf.xml, but any deployment enabling an MSRP TCP or TLS port parses this framing before authentication. An unauthenticated network peer can corrupt memory and crash FreeSWITCH, dropping all active calls, although remote code execution has not been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| A stack buffer overflow flaw was found in the GStreamer H.265 codec parser library (gst-plugins-bad). When parsing a buffering period SEI message, the parser uses an incorrect loop bound derived from cpb_cnt_minus1[i] (the loop index) instead of the sub-layer 0 CPB count cpb_cnt_minus1[0] from the referenced Sequence Parameter Set. A crafted H.265 video file or stream can cause the parser to write beyond the bounds of stack-allocated CPB delay arrays, resulting in a crash or potential stack memory corruption. |
| An out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in GStreamer's H.266/VVC PPS picture partition parser in gst-plugins-bad. In the multi-slice-in-tile processing of gst_h266_parser_parse_picture_partition() (gsth266parser.c), the loop iterates without checking that the slice index stays within bounds, writing past three fixed-size arrays (slice_height_in_ctus, slice_top_left_ctu_x, slice_top_left_ctu_y) in the GstH266PPS structure. While the initial proof-of-concept demonstrated a 4-byte out-of-bounds write, the code permits larger writes across multiple iterations. A crafted H.266/VVC media file can trigger this vulnerability. |
| A flaw was found in GIMP. This vulnerability, a buffer overflow in the `file-seattle-filmworks` plugin, can be exploited when a user opens a specially crafted Seattle Filmworks file. A remote attacker could leverage this to cause a denial of service (DoS), leading to the plugin crashing and potentially impacting the stability of the GIMP application. |
| A flaw was found in GIMP. A stack buffer overflow vulnerability in the TIM image loader's 4BPP decoding path allows a local user to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). By opening a specially crafted TIM image file, the application crashes due to an unconditional overflow when writing to a variable-length array. |
| Node Version Manager (nvm) is a POSIX-compliant shell function for managing multiple node.js versions. In versions 0.31.2 through 0.40.5, `nvm_ls` filters installed versions with a sed program that embeds the requested version pattern in a `\#...#` address, escaping `.` (and, since 0.40.4, `#`) but not backslash. A version string containing `#` (or `\#`) therefore closes the address early, and the rest of it is parsed as sed commands: with GNU sed, the `e` command runs a shell command as the user; with BSD sed, the `w` and `r` commands write and read files. This is reachable whenever an attacker-influenced version string is passed to `nvm use`, `nvm which`, `nvm ls`, `nvm version`, `nvm run`, or `nvm exec`, or to `nvm-exec` via `NODE_VERSION`, and at least one version is installed. nvm's own `.nvmrc` parser strips comments, so a bare `nvm use` is not affected; however, the bash `cdnvm` and zsh `load-nvmrc` auto-switch hooks documented in the README read `.nvmrc` as-is and pass it to `nvm ls` and `nvm version`, so a user with one of those hooks installed runs the attacker's command just by changing into a directory under a malicious `.nvmrc`; scripts that run `nvm use "$(cat .nvmrc)"` are affected the same way. Version 0.40.6 passes any version pattern containing `#` or a newline through the `.nvmrc` content parser first, so no `#` reaches the sed program. |
| When a broker decodes a compressed record batch, the per-record decoder reads a declared body size from the decompressed stream and allocates a buffer of that size before validating it against the bytes available or any configured limit. The size is attacker-controlled, and the batch CRC does not constrain it, so a small (around 90-byte), CRC-valid compressed produce request can declare a body size of up to about 2 GiB and force the broker to attempt that allocation, raising OutOfMemoryError. The record size limit (max.message.bytes), the request size limit, and client/broker quotas bound only the compressed wire size, not the declared decompressed size.
Impact:
An authenticated principal with Write on a topic can crash broker request-handler threads (reached when a batch's codec differs from the topic's compression.type and records are re-encoded) and any consumer that fetches the record, denying service. On brokers started with -XX:+ExitOnOutOfMemoryError, a common hardening, a single crafted request terminates the broker JVM. More seriously, a crafted record is accepted at ingest and written to disk; when the log-cleaner later reads it on a compacted topic, the OutOfMemoryError (an Error, not an Exception) terminates the cleaner thread, which is not restarted. With the default of a single cleaner thread, log compaction then stops for the entire broker, including the internal __consumer_offsets and __transaction_state topics, and the condition persists across restarts until the offending record is removed. The impact is availability only; no data is disclosed or altered.
Mitigation:
Upgrade to Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.2, or 4.4.0, and set max.decompressed.message.bytes (at the broker and/or topic level) to a bounded value appropriate for your workload. Upgrading alone is not sufficient: for backward compatibility this configuration defaults to an effectively unlimited value (about 2 GiB), so a broker remains exposed until the limit is set. Choose a value at or slightly above the largest legitimate decompressed record your applications produce, and comfortably below the broker heap divided by the number of request-handler and cleaner threads. Until you can upgrade and configure the limit, restrict Write access to trusted producers; quotas and max.message.bytes do not mitigate this issue.
Resolution:
From Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.2, and 4.4.0: the broker validates a record's declared decompressed body size against max.decompressed.message.bytes before allocating, on the produce-validation, log-compaction, and timestamp-lookup paths, and rejects oversized or negative sizes with InvalidRecordException. Operators must set this configuration to a bounded value to be protected, as its default is effectively unlimited. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, switch_xml_ampencode() reserved only ten bytes for the widest numeric character reference produced from a four-byte UTF-8 sequence, omitting space for the terminating NUL. When remote-supplied text was serialized at the exact buffer-growth boundary, the terminator wrote one byte beyond the heap allocation. Reachable surfaces include mod_xml_cdr, conference and formatted CDR XML, XML Event Socket output, and XML API output that serializes caller-controlled values. The fixed zero-byte write can abort the process or truncate an adjacent object, while remote code execution has not been demonstrated. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to 1.11.2, mod_event_socket used an unauthenticated Content-Length value directly as the allocation size for an Event Socket message body. Negative or extremely large values could overflow the terminator calculation or force an allocation failure through a helper that aborts the FreeSWITCH process. The header is parsed before the Event Socket password, so any host admitted by apply-inbound-acl can trigger termination with its first packet; the default loopback ACL limits ordinary installations to local clients. The outbound socket dialplan path is also affected when FreeSWITCH connects to a hostile application server, and process termination drops every active call until the service is restarted. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
