| CVE-2026-98153 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: fix racy access to FDP placement id array nvme_query_fdp_info() is called per-path and therefore prone to races. It populates head->nr_plids/head->plids for fdp registration. But nothing protects that pair from concurrent access - two paths scanning the same namespace can race to populate it. Avoid the race by moving this initialization work to nvme_alloc_ns_head() which is called once per shared namespace. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-rdma: fix -EIO cleanup order in queue_rq On -EIO, the RDMA queue_rq path reports a host path error and then still cleans up the command and unmaps the SQE DMA. The path error helper completes the request, so that is double cleanup and DMA unmap after the request is already complete. Unmap the SQE first, then report the host path error. Skip the outer command cleanup on that path. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/qaic: Address potential out-of-bounds read in resp_worker() Although 'commit 2feec5ae5df7 ("accel/qaic: Handle DBC deactivation if the owner went away")' fixes the scenario it was intended for by walking the message and only decoding QAIC_TRANS_DEACTIVATE_FROM_DEV, if present, it skipped over the bounds checking code that is included in decode_message(). This could lead to issues such as reading past the slab allocation's end, infinite loops or kernel panics. For those issues to happen, a malformed wire message is needed to be sent from the device. Instead of duplicating the bounds checking code already present in decode_message(), use the function inside resp_worker(). | ||||
| CVE-2026-98157 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: EDAC/device_sysfs: Use kstrtouint() for poll_msec to prevent truncation The poll_msec sysfs store file uses simple_strtoul() which accepts an unsigned long, but the target field (poll_msec) is unsigned int. On 64-bit systems, a value > UINT_MAX is silently truncated when stored. Fix the mismatch by using kstrtouint() instead. This rejects values larger than UINT_MAX at parse time, making truncation impossible. Also add a check for value < 1 to reject the 0-delay case, which would cause the poll work to spin without delay and consume 100% CPU. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93230 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/hugetlb: initialize gigantic bootmem hugepage struct pages earlier Gigantic bootmem HugeTLB pages are currently initialized from hugetlb_init(), but page_alloc_init_late() runs earlier and walks pageblocks to determine zone contiguity. If a bootmem HugeTLB region is marked noinit, set_zone_contiguous() can observe still-uninitialized struct pages through __pageblock_pfn_to_page(). This may not trigger an immediate failure, but it can make set_zone_contiguous() compute the wrong zone contiguity state. If extra poisoned-page checks are added in this path, such as PF_POISONED_CHECK() in page_zone_id(), it can also trigger an early boot panic. Initialize gigantic bootmem HugeTLB struct pages from page_alloc_init_late(), before zone contiguity is evaluated, so later page allocator setup only sees valid struct page state. This also makes the initialization order more natural, as struct pages should be initialized before later code inspects them. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93231 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lockd: fix swapped arguments in nlmsvc_match_ip() When releasing locks by server IP address via /proc/fs/nfsd/unlock_ip, nlmsvc_unlock_all_by_ip() calls nlm_traverse_files() with the server sockaddr as the opaque @data argument: nlm_traverse_files(server_addr, nlmsvc_match_ip, NULL); The match callback is later invoked from nlm_traverse_locks() as: match(lockhost, host); where the first argument is the nlm_host that owns the lock, and the second argument is the @data that was originally passed down (here the server sockaddr). This is the convention every other match callback relies on (nlmsvc_mark_host(), nlmsvc_same_host(), nlmsvc_is_client()): arg1 is the real nlm_host, arg2 is the caller-supplied reference value. nlmsvc_match_ip() has had these two arguments reversed ever since the unlock-by-IP feature was introduced in commit 4373ea84c84d ("lockd: unlock lockd locks associated with a given server ip"): return rpc_cmp_addr(nlm_srcaddr(host), datap); Here @host is actually the server sockaddr, so nlm_srcaddr(host) dereferences a struct sockaddr as a struct nlm_host and reads garbage at the offset of h_srcaddr; meanwhile @datap is actually the lock owner's nlm_host but is compared as a sockaddr. As a result the comparison practically never matches and locks are not released for the requested IP. Swap the arguments so the lock owner's source address is compared against the requested server address: return rpc_cmp_addr(nlm_srcaddr(datap), (struct sockaddr *)host); [ cel: fix the misleading typedef parameter names too ] | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/hugetlb: fix boot panic with CONFIG_DEBUG_VM and HVO bootmem pages Patch series "mm: Refactor bootmem gigantic hugepage allocation", v4. This series is split out from the earlier larger series "mm: Generalize HVO for HugeTLB and device DAX" [1]. It collects the first 19 patches of that series as a standalone set of fixes and preparatory cleanups around bootmem HugeTLB handling, sparse initialization ordering, and related vmemmap setup. The first patches fix a few bugs found while reviewing the existing code, including incorrect bootmem HVO handling, wrong vmemmap registration arguments, a powerpc compound-vmemmap tracking bug, and too-late initialization of gigantic bootmem HugeTLB struct pages. The rest of the series reorders early memory initialization so the relevant zone state is available before sparse and HugeTLB boot-time setup runs, then simplifies the remaining bootmem gigantic hugepage allocation path and removes code made obsolete by that rework. At a high level: - patches [1-4] fix boot-time and arch-specific bugs - patches [5-12] reorder and simplify sparse/mm/hugetlb early init - patches [13-19] refactor bootmem gigantic hugepage allocation and remove obsolete helpers and state This patch (of 19): Commit 622026e87c40 ("mm/hugetlb: remove fake head pages") switched HVO to reuse per-zone shared tail pages from zone->vmemmap_tails[]. Those shared tail pages were initialized in hugetlb_vmemmap_init(), but bootmem HugeTLB folios are prepared earlier from gather_bootmem_prealloc(). With hugetlb_free_vmemmap=on, prep_and_add_bootmem_folios() can access pageblock flags on bootmem HugeTLB pages whose mirrored tail struct pages already point to the shared tail page. On CONFIG_DEBUG_VM kernels, get_pfnblock_bitmap_bitidx() then dereferences the still-uninitialized shared tail page and can panic during boot. Initialize zone->vmemmap_tails[] from gather_bootmem_prealloc(), before bootmem HugeTLB folios are processed, and drop the later initialization from hugetlb_vmemmap_init(). This bug only affects CONFIG_DEBUG_VM kernels, where the relevant assertion is evaluated. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93236 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: meson: vdec: fix NULL pointer deref in vdec_try_fmt_common When VIDIOC_TRY_FMT is called with an unsupported pixel format on the OUTPUT queue, vdec_try_fmt_common() falls back to V4L2_PIX_FMT_MPEG2. However, if a distro has locally patched MPEG2 support out (as it has been broken for some time) the platform format table does not contain MPEG2 so find_format() returns NULL and the subsequent dereference of fmt_out->max_width triggers a NULL pointer dereference. Fix this by falling back to the first format in the platform's format array instead of hardcoding V4L2_PIX_FMT_MPEG2. This is always valid since every platform defines at least one format. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: entry: Avoid unnecessary local_irq_disable() on kernel exit Currently, when exiting to kernel mode, we attempt involuntary preemption. The preemption logic expects IRQs to be disabled, which is why we call local_irq_disable() before attempting preemption. However, depending on the context, local_irq_disable() may be unnecessary: - __el1_irq(), the non-NMI EL1 IRQ path, already has IRQs disabled, so local_irq_disable() is redundant. - irqentry_exit_to_kernel_mode_preempt() immediately returns when exiting from an NMI-like context, so calling local_irq_disable() beforehand is unnecessary work. Furthermore, it confuses the pNMI state tracking when we are in a context with interrupts disabled and the GIC_PRIO_PSR_I_SET bit is set in the PMR, leading to a warning when CONFIG_ARM64_DEBUG_PRIORITY_MASKING=y: WARNING: ./arch/arm64/include/asm/irqflags.h:63 at arm64_exit_to_kernel_mode+0xb8/0xc0, CPU#40: retsnoop/31805 CPU: 40 UID: 0 PID: 31805 Comm: retsnoop Not tainted 7.2.0-rc6-next-20260805 #7 PREEMPTLAZY pstate: 234013c9 (nzCv DAIF +PAN -UAO +TCO +DIT +SSBS BTYPE=--) pc : arm64_exit_to_kernel_mode (arch/arm64/kernel/entry-common.c:63) lr : el1_abort (arch/arm64/kernel/entry-common.c:323) pmr: 000000f0 Call trace: arm64_exit_to_kernel_mode (arch/arm64/kernel/entry-common.c:63) (P) el1_abort (arch/arm64/kernel/entry-common.c:323) el1h_64_sync_handler (arch/arm64/kernel/entry-common.c:449) el1h_64_sync (arch/arm64/kernel/entry.S:589) [...] Split arm64_exit_to_kernel_mode() into preempt, non-preempt, and dispatch parts so that we can avoid this extra work where it is not needed and avoid breaking the pNMI tracking logic. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: RSI: fix field-spanning write warning in attestation token init The challenge is passed in registers a1 through a8. However, copying to ®s.a1 makes FORTIFY treat the destination as the single a1 field, resulting in a field-spanning write warning. [1] Overlay the SMCCC register structure with an RSI-specific argument layout and copy the challenge into an explicit 64-byte array. This keeps the existing a1-a8 argument encoding while giving the copy a correctly sized destination object. | CVE-2026-97474 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | 7.4 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mld: purge async notifications upon nic error This fixes a kernel panic in reconfig failure: 1. we have a BSS connection 2. we have a NAN connection 3. FW error occurs 4. reconfig restores the BSS connection 5. however, restoring the NAN connection fails due to a FW error. 6. erroneously, ieee80211_handle_reconfig_failure is called and marks all interfaces as not-in-driver (will be fixed in a different patch). 7. mac80211 frees the links of the BSS connection but doesn't tell the driver about that, as it thinks that this vif is not in the driver. 8. in ieee80211_stop_device, *ALL* wiphy works are getting flushed (erroneously?) 9. Therefore, async_handlers_wk is being executed, processing the statistics notification that was received after we restored the BSS connection. 10. the notification handler dereferences fw_id_to_bss_conf[id], which is now a dangling pointer, as mac80211 already freed this link in (7). 11. On the first access to one of the links fields, we panic. While this can and should be fixed by removing the call to ieee80211_handle_reconfig_failure in (6), it is also not a good idea to carry and maybe handle notifications from a dead FW. We do purge the notifications when we stop the FW, but in reconfig failure we stop the FW too late, after the notifications are processed. In addition, async_handlers_wk can always be scheduled before the reconfig work. Purge the notifications immediately when transport notifies about a nic error. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98101 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: mcast: use copy-on-write RCU updates in ip6_mc_source() pmc->sflist is read locklessly under rcu_read_lock() by inet6_mc_check() during packet reception in the UDP and RAW multicast receive paths. ip6_mc_source() mutated psl->sl_addr and psl->sl_count in-place when adding or removing a source filter. Additionally, when expanding the filter buffer, newpsl was published via rcu_assign_pointer() before writing the new source into the array. Because 16-byte struct in6_addr writes are not atomic and array shifting is not synchronized with RCU readers, concurrent readers in inet6_mc_check() could read torn IPv6 addresses or observe duplicated/missed source entries. Fix this by switching ip6_mc_source() to copy-on-write RCU updates: allocate and fully populate newpsl before publishing it via rcu_assign_pointer(), and reclaim the old filter via kfree_rcu(), matching ip6_mc_msfilter(). Also remove the now unused IP6_SFBLOCK macro. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98105 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: oa_tc6: Improve the error recovery When oversubscribed traffic causes lot of buffer overflow errors, probably due to loss of data chunks, driver fails to find a data chunk with end_valid bit set, before it runs out of sk buffer space. As a result, assert is seen during skb_put. Now, check is made if skb buffer has enough tailroom for the incoming data before accepting. If there is no room, current frame is abandoned and it will start looking for a data chunk with start_valid bit, that is a new frame. SK buffer allocation error is considered as recoverable error. rx_buf_overflow flag is too specific and no longer the only condition this flag is used for. Therefore it is renamed as wait_until_start_valid. This is more appropriate as this flag is used to look for the next data chunk with SV bit set, after failures like buffer overflow, buffer allocation failure, skb pointer validity besides buffer overflow error. Not writing to status0 if it reads 0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93899 | 2 Wordplus, Wordpress | 2 Better Messages – Chat Rooms, Group Chat, Private Messages & Ai Chat Bots, Wordpress | 2026-09-25 | 6.5 Medium |
| The Better Messages – Chat Rooms, Group Chat, Private Messages & AI Chat Bots plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via 'group_id' Message Meta Parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.4 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. Exploitation requires the BuddyBoss Platform plugin to be installed with its Social Groups component disabled, a state that persists on any site that has previously toggled the Groups component off since BuddyBoss does not drop the wp_bp_groups table upon deactivation. | ||||

| CVE-2026-98116 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-25 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: pcm: Serialize PCM mmap with buffer reallocation to fix page UAF snd_pcm_hw_params() and snd_pcm_hw_free() guard buffer reallocation with an mmap_count check performed under the PCM stream lock, but the lock is released long before the buffer is actually freed: snd_pcm_sync_stop(), constraint refinement and do_free_pages() all happen in between. snd_pcm_mmap_data(), on the other hand, takes no lock at all: it validates against the old buffer's state and dma_bytes, remaps its pages into the VMA, and only then increments mmap_count. A concurrent mmap() can therefore slip in between the check and the free. remap_pfn_range() installs writable PTEs for the old buffer's pages without taking page references, and the subsequent do_free_pages() returns those pages to the page allocator while the VMA still maps them. This leaves a stale, writable mapping of freed pages: a page-level use-after-free that can be leveraged for local privilege escalation. Make snd_pcm_mmap_data() participate in the buffer-access scheme introduced for hw_params/hw_free: acquire runtime->buffer_accessing before validating and remapping, and release it afterwards. Buffer reallocation already fails with -EBUSY while accessors are active, and the mmap side now fails with -EBUSY while a reallocation is in progress, so the validate/remap sequence and the check/free sequence can no longer interleave. A reproducer that turns this race into a stale writable mapping of the freed DMA buffer pages is available on request. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vxlan: mdb: Fix use-after-free in vxlan_mdb_remote_src_del() vxlan_mdb_is_valid_source(), which validates MDBE_ATTR_SOURCE and every MDBE_ATTR_SRC_LIST member, accepts the all-zeros address. A source list is only accepted on a (*, G) entry, whose source is the all-zeros address, and for each member of the list an (S, G) entry is derived from it by substituting the source. Entries are keyed by a plain memcmp() of struct vxlan_mdb_entry_key, so if MDBE_ATTR_SOURCE is present and holds the all-zeros address and the source list holds it as well, the derived (S, G) key is byte-identical to the (*, G) key and resolves to the same entry. Omitting MDBE_ATTR_SOURCE is not equivalent, as the key is then left with a zero address family. vxlan_mdb_remote_src_del() removes the forwarding entry of a source before freeing the source entry: vxlan_mdb_remote_src_fwd_del(vxlan, group, remote, &ent->addr); vxlan_mdb_remote_src_entry_del(ent); With the keys aliased, the first call deletes the remote of the entry that owns 'ent' instead of a separate (S, G) entry, and frees 'ent'. The second call then runs on the freed entry, and its hlist_del() reads ->pprev and ->next out of it and writes through them. Adding the (*, G) entry with NLM_F_REPLACE and no source list marks the all-zeros source for deletion and reaches this from the sweep at the end of vxlan_mdb_remote_srcs_replace().
