| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip6_vti: fix slab-use-after-free in decode_session6 When ipv6_vti device is set to the qdisc of the sfb type, the cb field of the sent skb may be modified during enqueuing. Then, slab-use-after-free may occur when ipv6_vti device sends IPv6 packets. The stack information is as follows: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in decode_session6+0x103f/0x1890 Read of size 1 at addr ffff88802e08edc2 by task swapper/0/0 CPU: 0 PID: 0 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 6.4.0-next-20230707-00001-g84e2cad7f979 #410 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.14.0-1.fc33 04/01/2014 Call Trace: <IRQ> dump_stack_lvl+0xd9/0x150 print_address_description.constprop.0+0x2c/0x3c0 kasan_report+0x11d/0x130 decode_session6+0x103f/0x1890 __xfrm_decode_session+0x54/0xb0 vti6_tnl_xmit+0x3e6/0x1ee0 dev_hard_start_xmit+0x187/0x700 sch_direct_xmit+0x1a3/0xc30 __qdisc_run+0x510/0x17a0 __dev_queue_xmit+0x2215/0x3b10 neigh_connected_output+0x3c2/0x550 ip6_finish_output2+0x55a/0x1550 ip6_finish_output+0x6b9/0x1270 ip6_output+0x1f1/0x540 ndisc_send_skb+0xa63/0x1890 ndisc_send_rs+0x132/0x6f0 addrconf_rs_timer+0x3f1/0x870 call_timer_fn+0x1a0/0x580 expire_timers+0x29b/0x4b0 run_timer_softirq+0x326/0x910 __do_softirq+0x1d4/0x905 irq_exit_rcu+0xb7/0x120 sysvec_apic_timer_interrupt+0x97/0xc0 </IRQ> Allocated by task 9176: kasan_save_stack+0x22/0x40 kasan_set_track+0x25/0x30 __kasan_slab_alloc+0x7f/0x90 kmem_cache_alloc_node+0x1cd/0x410 kmalloc_reserve+0x165/0x270 __alloc_skb+0x129/0x330 netlink_sendmsg+0x9b1/0xe30 sock_sendmsg+0xde/0x190 ____sys_sendmsg+0x739/0x920 ___sys_sendmsg+0x110/0x1b0 __sys_sendmsg+0xf7/0x1c0 do_syscall_64+0x39/0xb0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd Freed by task 9176: kasan_save_stack+0x22/0x40 kasan_set_track+0x25/0x30 kasan_save_free_info+0x2b/0x40 ____kasan_slab_free+0x160/0x1c0 slab_free_freelist_hook+0x11b/0x220 kmem_cache_free+0xf0/0x490 skb_free_head+0x17f/0x1b0 skb_release_data+0x59c/0x850 consume_skb+0xd2/0x170 netlink_unicast+0x54f/0x7f0 netlink_sendmsg+0x926/0xe30 sock_sendmsg+0xde/0x190 ____sys_sendmsg+0x739/0x920 ___sys_sendmsg+0x110/0x1b0 __sys_sendmsg+0xf7/0x1c0 do_syscall_64+0x39/0xb0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd The buggy address belongs to the object at ffff88802e08ed00 which belongs to the cache skbuff_small_head of size 640 The buggy address is located 194 bytes inside of freed 640-byte region [ffff88802e08ed00, ffff88802e08ef80) As commit f855691975bb ("xfrm6: Fix the nexthdr offset in _decode_session6.") showed, xfrm_decode_session was originally intended only for the receive path. It was found that within a critical section of spin_lock_irqsave in sidtab_context_to_sid(), convert_context() (hooked by sidtab_convert_params.func) might cause the process to sleep via allocating memory with GFP_KERNEL, which is problematic. As Ondrej pointed out [1], convert_context()/sidtab_convert_params.func has another caller sidtab_convert_tree(), which is okay with GFP_KERNEL. Therefore, fix this problem by adding a gfp_t argument for convert_context()/sidtab_convert_params.func and pass GFP_KERNEL/_ATOMIC properly in individual callers. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: intel_pstate: Fix object lifecycle issue in update_qos_request() The cpufreq_cpu_put() call in update_qos_request() takes place too early because the latter subsequently calls freq_qos_update_request() that indirectly accesses the policy object in question through the QoS request object passed to it. Fortunately, update_qos_request() is called under intel_pstate_driver_lock, so this issue does not matter for changing the intel_pstate operation mode, but it theoretically can cause a crash to occur on CPU device hot removal (which currently can only happen in virt, but it is formally supported nevertheless). Address this issue by modifying update_qos_request() to drop the reference to the policy later. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/sched: Fix deadlock in drm_sched_entity_kill_jobs_cb The Mesa issue referenced below pointed out a possible deadlock: [ 1231.611031] Possible interrupt unsafe locking scenario: [ 1231.611033] CPU0 CPU1 [ 1231.611034] ---- ---- [ 1231.611035] lock(&xa->xa_lock#17); [ 1231.611038] local_irq_disable(); [ 1231.611039] lock(&fence->lock); [ 1231.611041] lock(&xa->xa_lock#17); [ 1231.611044] <Interrupt> [ 1231.611045] lock(&fence->lock); [ 1231.611047] *** DEADLOCK *** In this example, CPU0 would be any function accessing job->dependencies through the xa_* functions that don't disable interrupts (eg: drm_sched_job_add_dependency(), drm_sched_entity_kill_jobs_cb()). CPU1 is executing drm_sched_entity_kill_jobs_cb() as a fence signalling callback so in an interrupt context. It will deadlock when trying to grab the xa_lock which is already held by CPU0. Replacing all xa_* usage by their xa_*_irq counterparts would fix this issue, but Christian pointed out another issue: dma_fence_signal takes fence.lock and so does dma_fence_add_callback. dma_fence_signal() // locks f1.lock -> drm_sched_entity_kill_jobs_cb() -> foreach dependencies -> dma_fence_add_callback() // locks f2.lock This will deadlock if f1 and f2 share the same spinlock. To fix both issues, the code iterating on dependencies and re-arming them is moved out to drm_sched_entity_kill_jobs_work(). [phasta: commit message nits] | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: potential integer overflow in usbg_make_tpg() The variable tpgt in usbg_make_tpg() is defined as unsigned long and is assigned to tpgt->tport_tpgt, which is defined as u16. This may cause an integer overflow when tpgt is greater than USHRT_MAX (65535). I haven't tried to trigger it myself, but it is possible to trigger it by calling usbg_make_tpg() with a large value for tpgt. I modified the type of tpgt to match tpgt->tport_tpgt and adjusted the relevant code accordingly. This patch is similar to commit 59c816c1f24d ("vhost/scsi: potential memory corruption"). | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: char: applicom: fix NULL pointer dereference in ac_ioctl Discovered by Atuin - Automated Vulnerability Discovery Engine. In ac_ioctl, the validation of IndexCard and the check for a valid RamIO pointer are skipped when cmd is 6. However, the function unconditionally executes readb(apbs[IndexCard].RamIO + VERS) at the end. If cmd is 6, IndexCard may reference a board that does not exist (where RamIO is NULL), leading to a NULL pointer dereference. Fix this by skipping the readb access when cmd is 6, as this command is a global information query and does not target a specific board context. | ||||

| CVE-2025-40100 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not assert we found block group item when creating free space tree Currently, when building a free space tree at populate_free_space_tree(), if we are not using the block group tree feature, we always expect to find block group items (either extent items or a block group item with key type BTRFS_BLOCK_GROUP_ITEM_KEY) when we search the extent tree with btrfs_search_slot_for_read(), so we assert that we found an item. However this expectation is wrong since we can have a new block group created in the current transaction which is still empty and for which we still have not added the block group's item to the extent tree, in which case we do not have any items in the extent tree associated to the block group. The insertion of a new block group's block group item in the extent tree happens at btrfs_create_pending_block_groups() when it calls the helper insert_block_group_item(). This typically is done when a transaction handle is released, committed or when running delayed refs (either as part of a transaction commit or when serving tickets for space reservation if we are low on free space). So remove the assertion at populate_free_space_tree() even when the block group tree feature is not enabled and update the comment to mention this case. Fix this by reallocating ZC with rx_bi_zc struct when BPF program loads. Additionally reallocate back to rx_bi when BPF program unloads. If BPF program is loaded/unloaded and XSK pools are created, reallocate RX queues accordingly in XSP_SETUP_XSK_POOL handler. | ||||
